Bonjour Ladies! Placed even before the need to look good is a women need to smell good. We all want to smell like a miracle all the time, every day. Not only do we want to smell good, but we want to smell unique too. Tastes of women around the world have moved from the conventional floral and fruity to much new and surprising, musky and aquatic fragrances. But a decent bottle of perfume can pretty well make a hole in your pocket.
So here’s a DIY to make your own perfume at your Home’s comfort:
The first step is to stop and smell the roses, literally. Choose a medly of flowers , fruits and spices that you find go well together. Complimenting each other, they should create a miraculous scent.
Choose the base oil for your perfume. It can be any unscented clear oil like safflower oil, almond oil or grapeseed oil.
Chop down your chosen medley of flowers fruits and spices into tiny bits and grind them roughly in a mortar and pestle. For fruits, only the peel is to be used because the actual fruity sugars oxidise with time and smell ‘not good‘.
Take your ground mixture in an air tight container and add you base oil in it till all the mixture drowns into it. Let it rest in a warm and dark place.
This is the most difficult part of the process. For the oil to take in all the fragrance from our dry mixture, It will take a minimum of a week and a maximum of two weeks depending on our ingredients.
Strain your now ready perfume into a jar with the help of a cheesecloth. Mix the perfumed oil with three parts of your initial base oil. And bottle it!
There you go. That was as easy as making a sandwich, wasn’t it? And trust me ladies the wait will be worth it. You can choose your own unique combo and being an oil based perfume, it will be your companion all day long. These little things even make wonderful gifts. All you have to worry about now is, where you would like to spend all the money you just saved!
