We all hear about crimes against women taking place. We feel scared but don’t do anything thinking that it won’t happen to us. But what if it does? That’s why you need to be prepared. By being prepared, I don’t mean that you to carry loads of things which may cause inconvenience to you. There are a couple of small things which you can carry without any hassle and be prepared for any attack.
It is extremely light in weight and can easily be carried in a regular sized handbag or even a sling bag! Pepper spray is inexpensive and can give you time to escape your attacker. Aim the spray at your attacker’s eyes. It irritates the eyes and thus gives you a chance to escape!
You don’t have to go anywhere to search for this weapon. It can be found in your own kitchen! Go for a light weighted knife since it would be easier to carry. However, caution should be taken while handling the knife because you can harm yourself with it, if mishandled or it can prove to be fatal. Keep a knife in your bag and you’ll be good to go!
The latest addition to the market, red chilly spray is cheaper and more effective than a conventional pepper spray. Spray it in your attacker’s eyes and run. It will take the attacker some time to overcome the chilly spray, buying you some time to run away. Do not think just run away in case of an attack!
It serves the same function as a knife, but it is lighter than a knife. It is also easier to handle when compared to a knife. You can carry it in your handbag, sling bag or even in your pocket! Do not hesitate using it if you’re being attacked
How can a piece of cloth help you when you’re being attacked? Do not underestimate a scarf! It can help in strangling your attacker and thus rendering him defenseless. Timing and unpredictability play an important role in the use of a scarf for defense. You might usually carry a scarf so you don’t even have to keep anything extra with yourself!
Carry these things with you and you won’t ever be a ‘damsel in distress’ in dire need of a ‘knight’ to rescue you. You have to be your own ‘knight’ and rescue yourself. Just like ‘prevention is better cure’, being prepared is always a good thing. Try to join self defense classes as well so you have an upper hand in case of an attack. You don’t have to be a helpless victim, you have to fight back. Carry these things and be safe!
